In an emergency situation, (floods, major disasters such as an earthquake, or chemical, bacteriological, Nuclear risks, as well as fires) running water, electricity, telephone networks may be cut off.

You must be prepared to live independently for a few days with certain essential items, in your home (confinement) or outside after an evacuation order.

Be careful that the bag is not too heavy, you may have to walk with it.

Prepare the essentials listed below and pack them in your emergency bag. Place it in an easy-to-reach location so you can get to it as quickly as possible.

In advance (if possible)

Water: six liters per person in small bottles.

Emergency food that requires little water: energy bars, dried fruit, canned goods, baby food, etc.

Basic tools: multifunction pocket knife, can opener, etc.

Flashlight with two sets of spare batteries or a battery-free hand-cranked lamp (dynamo).

Radio with batteries, or a radio without batteries and a crank handle

Medical first aid kit: strips, alcohol, plasters, paracetamol, antidiarrheal, hydro-alcoholic hand products, etc.

A spare set of car keys (to avoid looking for them, or forgetting them and losing time in case of evacuation by road)

At the last moment

Identity papers, passport, health card

Home and car insurance, etc

Your current medication

A cell phone with a charged battery

Cash or credit card

You should also bring

A change of clothes and shoes

Toilet paper

sanitary napkins for women and girls

personal hygiene

Sleeping bags

Various games: cards, dice, dominoes, etc. (if the situation lasts, this will help pass the time)
